Acorn Archimedes RISC 3010

The Acorn Archimedes represented leading edge computing hardware in the 1980's. While most enthusiasts were still using 8-bit home micros, the 32-bit RISC based architecture of the Archimedes simply blew everything else out of the water.

As usual, this pinnacle of British engineering was underfunded, under utilised and basically left behind. Never before in the history of British computing was such a colossal oversight made in terms of empowering the population with state of the art technology.

The Archimedes survives as a rare and quite sought after antique. A glorious reminder of the potential that Britains Very Large Scale Integration industry once showed.
