Catharism flourished between the 1100's and the 1300's. It represented a polarised or dualist faith. It refused to follow the Roman Catholic philosophy of a Holy Trinity. Instead Cathars believed in a simple division between good and evil. A long standing belief in Pagan religions that the universe is dictated by two forces which are in perpetual conflict. One is positive and represents the 'Yin' archetype synonymous with light, benevolence, forgiving and purity of spirit. The other being the negative 'Yang' which represents darkness, evil, base desires and all that is material in nature. The ongoing conflict between the two is considered a prerequisite for the existence of mankind. This is seen in many religions as the purpose of humanity, to walk a higher path than our instinctive, animal instincts dictate. The Cathars and the Albegensians were also known for practicing widespread celibacy to free themselves from the doctrine of procreation. They believed that this facilitated a more enlightened interaction between humans. The Catholic church disagreed with this and other basic tenets of their belief structure, declared them all heretics and had them all summarily butchered.

The Cathar castles in France can still be seen today due to the longevity of their phenomenal architecture. The attempted destruction of their formidable mountain top infrastructure has been interpreted as evidence of aerial supremacy in antiquity. The records which attest to the dismantling of the extensive stonework make about as much sense as the construction theories associated with the Giza plateau. The same anomalous damage can be seen at the Nimrod fortress in Israel.
